Sydney's Blessing/Ryan's Birthday/ Farewell to the Hicks

Sunday, July 18th was a very eventful day. We blessed Sydney at church. We celebrated Ryan's 5th birthday, and we said goodbye to the Hicks family before they moved to New York State.

My adorable baby in her blessing dress from Aunt Mia and headband from Aunt Martina.

Here are some farewell pictures that we took to help the boys remember them. But I think we see them more often now, over the web cam, than we ever saw them when we were on the same coast.

These boys LOVE their Aunt Jenn .

So precious

When they moved we inherited some things that didn't make it onto the truck. Such as the rockin' Eeyore the boys are riding together.

Uncle Dano is a favorite around here. He must have walked Casey up and down the stairs this way a dozen times. He always gets a work out when he comes and visits.

Uncle Daniel getting in some practice. He's going to be a daddy in about 3 weeks, but he likes the color blue.

Here we are getting ready to sing to Ryan. The boys live for birthdays and are always asking whose birthday it next.

Beach July 2010

It's a Miracle!! I'm blogging. I'm going to attempt to post about some past activities so you won't be completely shocked at how big Sydney is now. And for those of you who have seen her lately you can admire how little she used to be.

Jennifer with Baby Katie. Katie was born just 15 days before Sydney. Every time I see her on the web cam these days (since they live in New York now) I think how much fun it would be to see how Katie and Sydney would interact with each other. We miss you guys!!

Casey is our moody child. It was really windy the whole time we were there and Casey didn't want to put his feet in the sand. So this wagon was the compromise. I think we coaxed him out of it one time in 4 days.

Tyler doesn't waste anytime getting comfortable in the sand, with no kids around. He the master builder.

Me and Sydney hanging out at the Beach House. We were only 3 houses from the sand, but the temperature difference was amazing. I would say at least 10 degrees.

This was taken Sunday morning, so no swimming this day. But just look at Payton's hair to see how windy it was.
Best Buddies/Cousins

Oh Casey, we love your faces.

This one wasn't at the beach, but I had to include it.

She's So Cute!

The boys love for Sydney has grown exponentially in the last few days. They can't wait to say "Good Morning" and "Good Night" everyday and are especially excited when she is awake and looking at them. Ryan actually complained that Sydney was looking at Casey more than him. :)

Ryan and Casey are constantly telling me how cute she is. Casey actually said the other day; "Mom, Sydney is so cute. She's even cuter than me!" Priceless. What impressed me the most about his comment is that he got the pronoun right. I'm constantly correcting him with "she" and "her."
Casey finally decided that he wanted to hold her, and now there's no stopping him. He asks all the time, especially when she's napping and when I'm feeding her. We're working on his timing.

I'm working on getting normal smiles out of the boys at the same time, but no such luck yet.

I've been very blessed to have 3 good babies, but Sydney is definitely the BEST. She's an awesome sleeper, and typically only wakes up once at night to eat. What better gift for the mom of a newborn than 5 hours of continuous sleep! Thank you Sydney!

Sydney Part II

Here are some pictures that Melissa took this morning. She has been very sleepy, but finally open her eyes for some pictures.

Casey still doesn't want to hold Sydney, but will sit next to her.

This is what she thinks of the Angels. Sorry JD she doesn't like baseball. :)

Sydney Kristin Ward

Welcome Sydney Kristin Ward!
Born May 19, 2010 at 12:17pm
8 lb, 18 1/2 in.

I just wanted to get a picture of Sydney on the blog. More to follow...

Here is a collage of the boys with Sydney. Guess which one is Sydney.
For those that need help, Sydney is in the top and bottom with Ryan on the left and Casey on the right.

Here is another collage with a different picture of Ryan. I couldn't decide which one to use.

I think she looks a bit like Ryan, but also see some Casey as well.

Rose Parade

Here's a flashback post - the annual Rose Parade. It's a big deal out here and the boys really like the parade, too.

The only problem is that you have to park your car a mile away and trek it to the parade route. At least we've got the wagon for the boys.

One great thing about the Rose Parade is the seemingly unlimited supply of donuts. Here are the boys eating their donuts. In the morning it was a bit chilly, but it got pretty warm by the time the parade started.

Here is donut #2 for Casey. I can't remember if he ate 3 or 4 donuts.

Of course, I've got to get my fill of donuts. It's all about the food, don't you know.

Casey is all ready to go and waiting for the floats to show up.

Yes, the parade is very serious stuff.

I had to get at least one picture of the parade. A cool float with an airplane. Till next year!!!
